Warranty Information

On each page you will find the warranty period specified for each brand. To ensure your warranty remains valid, we recommend following manufacturers instructions which are included in each order or can be found on the brands website. This includes washing instructions; should alternate washing routines be followed outside those recommended on the suppliers/manufacturers website this could affect the outcome of any warranty claim.

Items stocked in the Apikali store are intended for use only for the purpose described and not for any other purpose. Any item purchased requires careful adult selection and use should be under proper adult supervision when being used on or by a child. Where the item is for a child it must be used in an appropriate way and for the correct physical developmental age for that child.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Each manufacturer makes every effort to supply products that are of an acceptable quality. Products are of an acceptable quality if they are:

*  safe, durable and free from defects

*  acceptable in appearance and finish; and

*  do all the things that the goods are ordinarily used for.

The warranty provided by each manufacturer covers products that do not meet this standard, however the warranty does not cover:

FIT - there are many of the manufacturer brands which are stocked at Apikali have been designed as a one-size-fits-most nappy (as described by the manufacturers), it is not guaranteed to fit all babies at all stages. Most babies will fit the nappy from birth to toilet training. Babies that are very small at birth or are particularly slim may not fit some one size nappies. Some babies will go through a stage (usually just before they begin walking) when the nappies may seem to be a tight fit. Babies change shape all the time and your baby will likely fit comfortably into the nappies in a few weeks time. The sizing suggestions are a guide only and are in no way a guarantee to fit. Nappies that are sized have weight limits that should be take as a guide only as babies come in all different shapes regardless of weight. When in doubt it is always best to ask for measurements. Poor fit of any clothing or nappy related items cannot be claimed via the warranty process and will fall under the terms and conditions for change of mind returns: http://www.apikali.com.au/Terms-Conditions--Refunds-Returns-Exchanges_ep_125-1.html

LEAKING - some babies are light wetters and require only minimal absorbency. Other babies seem to outwet everything. The most important step you can take to reduce the incidence of leaking and to protect your baby from rash is to change at least every 2 hours during the day, or as soon as you know they have soiled the nappy. We are very happy to try and help you find a solution to the leaking of a nappy purchased through Apikali however this is not a valid reason for a warranty claim.

INCORRECT CARE - the warranty does not cover products which have been cared for in an incorrect manner. This includes, but is not limited to, incorrect hanging, the use of fabric softener, bleach, biological detergents, vinegar, brighteners and washing detergents which contain enzymes or citric acid. It is important to wash nappies every day to avoid deterioration of the nappy fabric. How long a nappy lasts is dependent on a number of factors, including care, number of nappies in rotation and the child's urine. Breakdown of fabrics caused by acidic urine will not be covered under any warranty. Incorrect care includes the use of dryers and leaving washing in the sun for extended periods. Both of these can cause damage to the PUL (or delaminating of the PUL inside nappies and covers) and damage to the elastics. Most manufacturers allow dryers to be used on the cool settings until almost dry however it is the responsibility of the consumer to check individual care instructions via the manufacturer/supplier webpage.

NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR - warranties do not cover general wear and tear of any of the items stocked in the Apikali store. The majority of the products we stock are on a high rotation. The warranties do not cover the gradual thinning of fabrics over time, slight slackening of the elastic over time or fabrics losing their fluffiness/softness or delamination of PUL layers to fabrics.

DIFFERENCES IN PATTERNS, COLOURS AND UPGRADED VERSIONS - Warranties are not applicable to differences in colours or patterns. Colours and patterns can vary from batch to batch and different settings on computer monitors can make colours seem different than the actual product.

SECOND-HAND NAPPIES & ACCESSORIES - Second hand nappies and accessories are not covered by a manufacturers warranty as the purchaser is not the original owner. Apikali offers a 14 day warranty on second-hand nappies and accessories purchased through the store only.

Warranties on items purchased from Apikali are for the original purchaser only. Proof of purchase must be supplied with all warranty claims.

Warranty claim procedure

If you have an item you need to place a warranty claim for please contact us.

You will be required to provide us with your original receipt (or order number), images clearly showing the fault as well as an explanation of the fault plus in the case of nappies and clothing, your care routine.

We will then follow up and work with you on your claim. We may ask that you destroy the item and show photographic evidence or we may ask you to return the item to us for inspection. No claim will progress until one of the above occurs. Postage to us or the manufacturer is the responsibility of the consumer. Should we deem the item to be defective postage costs will then be reimbursed.

Items returned to us must be in a clean dry condition. This is a requirement under Occupational Health and Safety laws. Should items be returned to us in this manner then your claim will not progress, items will be returned to the consumer at their expense.

Failure of items due to improper care, damage caused by accidents, misuse or the breakdown of materials and components through reasonable wear and tear will not be covered under warranty. Manufacturer and/or Apikali care instructions must be followed; any unauthorised modifications or repairs to the item may void the warranty.
